Ink Studios (2), Hackney Wick, UK

Project info / Insight:
Ink Studios is a workplace located in Hackney Wick, best known as one of London’s most vibrant creative areas, a place where artists, makers, independents and forward-thinking businesses cluster around industrial warehouses, canal-side studios, and a distinctly alternative cultural atmosphere.

Challenge / Idea:
All units were now occupied, with only one unit remaining. The developers were facing difficulties in closing a deal. The challenge was to freshen up the offering and reintroduce it to the market as something new and compelling.

Design / Results:
To tackle this challenge, I revisited the original branding, which was predominantly monochrome and heavily influenced by the graffiti culture of the surrounding area. For the rebrand, I decided to take a new approach. By completely revamping the existing identity, I introduced a new logo, typeface, brand colours, art direction, and a unique pattern that embodied the fluidity of ink, reflecting the name itself. This allowed us to present the space through a new lens to potential tenants. These elements were then integrated into the brochure and other marketing materials.

As a result, the remaining and final unit was successfully sold.
