Project info / Insight:
Isoebe Archive is where multidisciplinary artist and creative, Isabelle Tara Josephs, showcases and sells her wonderful collage prints.
Challenge / Idea:
Isabelle wanted to revisit her existing branding and marketing, with aspirations of evolving her practice into a business that extends beyond simply selling collage artwork. She was keen to explore how she could grow her brand awareness, and part of this ambition was to do so through exhibitions, collaborations, and a cookbook.
Design / Results:
I designed a brand identity that complements her collages and acts as the perfect backdrop. I achieved this by using a beige colour palette, which allowed the colours within her collages to take centre stage, balanced with a more expressive and bold typeface. The typeface used has a sense of imperfection and feels cut out without being totally obvious.
Most outputs were intentionally minimal and brought to life through expressive typographic display. This approach extended to the design of the wordmark, which was displayed across collage prints, exhibition posters, the website, merchandise, Instagram posts, and the cookbook. Subtle moments of motion were also introduced, echoing the tactile, organic feel of cutting and sticking inherent in her collage process.
